Be very very careful of this business and the guy name Kevin. He is a scam, he took deposit and instead of doing job, he was asking for more money! When I refused, he left without doing anything, and took away my deposit money. Very incompetent and not professional at all.
Kevin seemed like a decent guy and that was short lived. He asked for a deposit and he worked half a day, made a mess and that has been the last I have heard from him in over a week. Don't fall for this con artist. I feel sick to my stomach I have allowed him into my home and have been out $2k and need to get his mess fixed up.
Excel-Tech Renovating and Painting, aka Kevin Whitford Renovating, aka Eclipse Painting and Renovating, aka KW Painting. The owner, Kevin Richard William Whitford, claims his companies are located in White Rock, however Ive learned that Kevin operates out of a rehab house in Surrey. I paid Kevin over $7,000.00 to renovate a small section of my basement. He did a terrible job, made a complete mess, caused property damage, refused to fix his mistakes and refused to finish the job properly. He walked out and as he was leaving he smirked and told me I already got your money so I dont have to finish this job. First impression - he appears to be competent and a decent person, however I discovered that he is a con man, very defensive, angry and unskilled. I have had to hire another contractor to fix all the mistakes and finish the job properly.I discovered that Kevin has a criminal background and this can be confirmed by a search on Court Services Online. There are a number of civil judgments against this unscrupulous criminal. There are many bad reviews about him, including how he has stolen deposit money from homeowners. He keeps changing the names of his companies to escape the bad reviews, law suits and judgments. I will be commencing legal proceedings against him. Hopefully criminal charges will be laid soon. DO NOT HIRE THIS CON MAN.
UPDATED FEB.2018**** WARNING.....WARNING....WARNING!!-Anyone that knows of Kevin or his whereabouts should call the POLICE and have him charged. Also post as much info. here as possible to help the POLICE and law courts put him away for a long time. Sharing is good if it saves another person from having to go through the chaos with this bad-apple".He only uses his trade proprietorship or so-called company as a cover to "Rip" people off in a HUGE WAY.I worked for this slime ball, as a sub-contractor for just 1 1/2 jobs, until I found out that my gut feeling was bang on about this guy. He and his brother, told me in the South Surrey Dairy Queen at lunch one day, that they have been in and out of jail for most of their lives(hard time-major crimes, (Ontario & maybe other Provinces). He does terrible work and always asks for money up-front, and along the way, saying that he's broke and he always is(drugs, etc.)His business doesn't exist, so WHY does he still use an old address and photo? I wonder why??? (Read on where he lives recently Feb.2018)He used to live in the White Rock, BC area, and go to the White Rock Community Church, where many fellow brothers/sisters have helped this Wonderful guy out with lodging, food and money(very sad statement for this church). They have helped him to be a successful CRIMINAL to society and his poor clients. Shame on the pastors and church too, they should have to pay his customers back, don't you think?? He lived in a basement suite with the help of a couple going to this church.(I talked with the husband in person @ their home, where he used to live in Nov.2017)A RECENT CUSTOMER called me because he had stolen a lot of money from her. We found out that he NOW lives in a Surrey half-way house, and hires his jail-buddies there to help him. She talked to the half-way house manager to notify him of Kevin's dealings.This same lady is contacting other former clients of his or anyone that knows him, to put him in jail, hopefully for the rest of his life(she works for a law office). Too bad the White Rock Community Church is so naive, blind, or just plain stupid, to help this kind of guy exist to intentionally 'Rip-off" people. Very Sad!! The BLIND obviously leading the BLIND @ that church!That is NOT...JESUS...way, truth and life...at all...that is how wolves in sheep's clothing or rather the devil works. Read the scripture...Church!! "You shall know the 'Truth' and the 'Truth' shall set you free."** ANYONE KNOWING HIS WHEREABOUTS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY...CALL THE POLICE & HAVE HIM CHARGED**
BE CAREFUL of this man Kevin Whitford. He advertises on Craigslist as a Handyman and claims that he has all these skills. He is a fraud. His work is terrible. The guys that work for him are not experienced. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.
