Beautiful in a mild day! Great place to walk your dog. Off leashed possible, as long as you can control your pet.
Best dog beach. Lots of space for dogs to run and explore off leash and play fetch (*** only let your dog free if it has been trained properly as there are trains that frequently go by and other dogs and people that will not appreciate an aggressive / untrained / wild dog ***) been bringing my dogs here for years, and they love swimming, exploring, playing fetch and meeting the other dogs. PS, please be responsible and clean up after your dog. This is a wonderful place and we don't need more restrictions due to irresponsible owners not bothering to clean up their dogs poop. Great beach period.Anytime we have guests from out of town we go to one of two places. Blackie Spit or here. Blackie Spit is great because the parking is free, but it is often very, very busy. It is also subject to some seasonal restrictions for dogs.This beach is dog friendly all year long. There is a parking lot right next to the beach and it is not unreasonable considering when we go there, it is usually for a couple hours at least. On our last visit we picked up some sushi, ate on the beach, ran the dog for about an hour and then sat around and watched an absolutely beautiful sunset!!On other visits we have brought our stand up paddleboards but every visit has been just lovely. NOTE - if you chose to bring your paddleboard, DO check the tides. We had our stuff set up in the sand and got a little carried away out on the water. Before we knew it we had to rush in to rescue our things from the tide. I generally check before going out but you know what happens that one time you don't...
This "Off Leash Dog Park" is on the beach of Semiahmoo Bay, on "First Nations Land". It is a beautiful place to let your dog(s) swim in the salt water, with plenty of room to run when tide is out, usually mid morning. Watch for trains on the tracks and the USA border boundary signs.
